Airlines Cut Int’l Fuel Surcharges

  A number of airline companies this month have lowered fuel surcharges for international flights including China Southern Airlines, Qantas Airlines and Cathay Pacific. China Southern Airlines on January 1 announced a decision to cut the fuel surcharges for each leg of its flights to Korea by three US dollars. Qantas Airlines also cut its fuel surcharges on the same day but figures have not been released. Also on January 1, Cathay Pacific cut fuel surcharges on each leg of its flights to and from Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the South Asian Subcontinent (including India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) to USD 124.
